3M™ Tegaderm™ Alginate Ag is an antimicrobial, highly absorbent wound dressing that is composed of sterile calcium alginate, arboxymethylcellulose and an ionic silver complex (silver sodium hydrogen zirconium phosphate).

When the dressing comes into contact with wound exudate, it releases antimicrobial ionic silver which very effectively reduces the microbial load caused by a broad spectrum of microorganisms, including antibiotic-resistant bacteria (MRSA and VRE). It can also be used for wounds requiring autolytic debridement.

Indications for Use

Tegaderm Alginate Ag is indicated for use in the management of all moderate to heavily exuding partial to full thickness wounds where wounds are critically colonised (infected) or at increased risk of infection including:
- Post-operative wounds
- Trauma wounds (dermal lesions, trauma injuries or incisions)
- Leg ulcers
- Pressure ulcers
- Diabetic ulcers
- Graft and donor sites
- Cavity wounds
- Superficial and partial thickness burns
