This twice life-size simulator is unique in the way it demonstrates the principles of an intervertebral disc prolapse. If the vertebrae are pressed, a prolapse can be pressed out of the disc. The prolapse can be formed by compression or torsion or by a combination of these movements. The model comprises two lumbar vertebrae and an intervertebral disc.
